A stressful day can always be soothed by a surprise in the mail. Case in point for me this week was the arrival of my copy of Market Watch, a trade magazine that featured three of my photos in the April 2012 edition. They published a story about the explosion of beer week festivals nationwide called Beer Bash, and since I served as Communications Director for SF Beer Week, I provided an interview and photos of this year’s event.
At this point my work has only been published a handful of times, so it’s novel and mesmerizing. I’ll closely examine the quality of the printed images looking for flaws and then compare it to the computer monitor. In this instance the photo editor of Market Watch actually changed the tint of my glassware photo from black and white to sepia so it would match the title of the article. No big deal.
